• Spring clean up. Spread snow piles so they melt
faster.
• Remove fallen branches, thatch or rake lawns, clean mulch
and flower beds.
• Lime and Fertilizer may be applied.
• Mulch shrub beds.
• Start cutting grass very low.
• Turn on sprinklers system.
• Apply crabgrass pre-emergent and treat broadleaf weeds.
• Gradually start raising lawnmower height each week as
you cut grass.
• Plant spring flowers.
• Look for grubs and insect activity.
• This is a good time to start planting shrubs and trees.
• Water as needed early morning or late afternoon.
• Late night watering will keep grass moist and encourages
fungus growth.
• Watering on hot sunny days and high humidity encourages
other lawn diseases.
• Fertilize and remove weeds and start pruning Rhododendrons.
• Mow lawns high and hand pull weeds.

• Look for insect and diseases.

• Keep leaves off grass and remove flowers.
